PRIVACY POLICY

Stray Oak Spirits ("we," "us," or "our") operates strayoakspirits.com. This page explains how we handle your information.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information you voluntarily provide:

  • Newsletter signups: email address and zip code
  • Contact form: name, email address, and your message (and, for wholesale and trade inquiries, your business name, establishment type, and estimated monthly volume)
  • Age verification: a confirmation that you are of legal drinking age

We also receive certain technical information automatically when you visit. Our hosting provider (Vercel) logs basic request data — IP address, browser type, and request timestamps — for security and operational purposes, on a short rolling window. To limit automated abuse of our forms, we briefly record your IP address against a request counter that expires within minutes. Our analytics and mapping providers receive technical information as described below.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information to respond to inquiries, send updates about availability and releases, understand aggregate traffic patterns, protect the site from abuse, and improve our website. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

SERVICE PROVIDERS

We use trusted third-party providers to operate the site. These providers process information only to provide their services to us and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

  • Resend (resend.com) — handles email delivery and our newsletter audience. It processes the information you submit through our newsletter and contact forms in order to send our messages and manage subscriptions on our behalf.
  • Vercel (vercel.com) — hosts the website and provides our analytics, described below.
  • Mapbox (mapbox.com) — powers the interactive map on our Find Stray Oak page. When that page loads the map, your browser connects directly to Mapbox, which receives your IP address, information about your browser and device, and data about how you interact with the map. Mapbox also stores an identifier in your browser's local storage to measure map usage. This happens only on the Find page — no other page on this site loads the map. We do not request or collect your device's precise location, and the site blocks browser location access entirely. Mapbox's handling of this data is governed by its own privacy policy.
  • Upstash (upstash.com) — provides the short-lived request counter we use to rate-limit our forms against automated abuse. Entries expire within minutes.

COOKIES, LOCAL STORAGE, AND ANALYTICS

We use one first-party cookie, which remembers your age verification so you are not asked on every page. It expires after 30 days. As noted above, the Mapbox map on our Find page also stores an identifier in your browser's local storage. Those are the only cookies or similar technologies this site uses.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns. It does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites. It does process your IP address and browser user-agent to generate a rotating, pseudonymous visitor identifier, and it records approximate location (country and region), device, operating system, browser, referring site, and the pages viewed. We use this only in aggregate; it does not tell us who you are, and we make no attempt to identify individual visitors from it.

We do not use tracking cookies, third-party advertising cookies, social media pixels, or session-recording tools.

DATA RETENTION

Contact form submissions and newsletter signups are retained only as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which they were collected. You may request deletion of your data at any time. Newsletter unsubscribe requests are honored promptly via the link in every email.

YOUR RIGHTS

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

AGE AND CHILDREN

This site is intended solely for people of legal drinking age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21, and our content is not directed to children. If you believe someone under 21 has provided us information, email us and we will delete it.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
